Welcome to Marloth Park: A Conservation Sanctuary

As you embark on your journey within this unique wildlife haven, please observe the following guidelines to ensure the safety and preservation of our natural environment and its inhabitants:

Driving and Road Use:

Speed Limits: Adhere to 50km/h on tarred and 30km/h on sand roads.Passenger Safety: All passengers must be seated inside the vehicle; riding on tailgates, side steps, or windows is prohibited.Driver Requirements: Only licensed and of-age drivers are permitted; driving under the influence is strictly forbidden.Vehicle Restrictions: Stay on established roads; no driving on parkland or creating shortcuts.

Community Conduct:

Noise Control: Maintain low noise levels at all times; complete quiet is expected after 18:00 daily.Fireworks: Due to the risk of fire and disturbance, fireworks are not allowed.Pets: To protect our wildlife, pets are not permitted within Marloth Park.Environmental Conservation: Do not cut down vegetation or remove trees; spotlighting animals is prohibited. Fire Safety: Open fires are only allowed in designated places; ensure fires are fully extinguished after use.

Respecting Wildlife:

Feeding Animals: Direct feeding of wildlife is dangerous and prohibited. Proper animal feed is available for purchase. Nighttime Precautions: Avoid walking or cycling from 18:00 – 06:00 for your safety. Vehicle Usage: Off-road and quad bikes are not permitted in the parking area.

Construction and Waste Management:

Building Work: No construction from Saturday 12:00 until Monday 07:00 to maintain the peace.Trash Disposal: Use black refuse bags for your garbage and utilise designated dump sites.

Fines and Penalties:

Noise Disturbances: R500 for the first offense, escalating to R2500 for subsequent violations. Continuous disturbances may lead to eviction with the aid of SAPD.General Non-compliance: Non-adherence to the pet policy, environmental damage, or safety regulations may result in fines and legal action.

Pet Policy:

In compliance with Marloth Park regulations, pets are not permitted on the premises. An R7500 fine will be charged for any violations.

FAQS

What is the check-in/check-out time at Wild Rose Rivier Lodge?

Our standard check-in time is at 14:00 PAM, allowing us ample time to prepare your room to the highest standard of cleanliness and comfort.

Check-out is at 10:00 AM, but if you wish to extend your stay or require early check-in, please contact us in advance, and we'll do our best to accommodate your request.

Shops in the Area?

There is shops in 5 km radius where you can buy food

Feeding of Animals?

Please remember that animals are wild and in their natural habitat and can cause injury or harm.

The Getaway Bush's entertainment area is enclosed for safe viewing.

Please note feeding is at own risk.

Animal feed can be bought at the Bush Centre Shopping area (where you picked up the keys.) or at Daisy's Den next to the Bush Centre.

The animals enjoy pellets, lucerne and any left over food as well as veggie peels.

Is the Water Drinkable?

The water is drinkable, but we would advise to buy bottled water. There is a water depot in Marloth Park, first turn to the right before you turn right to go to Bush Centre.

Security in case of Emergency?

SECURITY: Field Security (082 828 1043)

The Yellow button on the remote is to arm and disarm the alarm.

The Red button is for emergencies only.

Field Security will come out to the property if you press the RED button.

If you accidentally trigger the alarm to go off please cancel the call out by calling Field Security to say that you have accidentally triggered the alarm.

Please note that Field Security charges R250 for unnecessary response callouts. This will be charged to your bill if you don’t phone Field Security to cancel the call out.

* When checking out please make sure you arm the alarm. Field Security will send you back to the house to activate the alarm if you did not activate the alarm on your departure.

Animals entering the House?

Please keep the doors closed when leaving the house to prevent bush friends like mice, snakes, and insects from entering the house.

During your stay please keep in mind that the monkeys and baboons will try to grab some food from the house, causing a lot of damage in the process. Keep all doors and windows closed to minimise the risk.

Please make sure the gas bottle/gas braai in the entertainment area/patio is closed after use to prevent harm and damage. Also to minimise the fire hazard.

Do not leave any crockery or cutlery outside at night. The baboons break things that are lying around outside.

Please switch off the aircon when you are out for the day and when you check out. Make sure you switch off all electronic devices and lights upon your departure.

Keys and Security?

Please remember to hand in the keys at Field Security upon departure.

Please make sure that all the windows and doors are closed when you leave the house.

The baboons and monkeys causes a lot of damage inside the house.

How far is the Kruger National Park

Crocodile Gate is 28km away, and Malelane Gate is 35km away.
